Meghan Markle is said to be upset with Katy Perry after she made negative comments about her wedding dress.
The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex moved to Montecito, California in 2020 with Prince Harry after deciding to step down as a senior member of the Royal Family.
Meghan married Prince Harry, 37, in 2018. She chose a simple white gown created by Givenchy for the lavish ceremony, and Harry has apparently struck up a friendship with Katy Perry’s fiance, actor Orlando Bloom.
While Harry and Orlando are apparently getting along like a house on fire, Meghan is still upset by comments Katy made in 2018.
During a promotional tour in the US for American Idol, Katy said regarding Meghan’s wedding dress that she “would’ve done one more fitting.”
A source told The Daily Star: “Orlando is very sympathetic towards Harry and Meghan and does reach out if he ever sees anything suspicious in the neighborhood.
“However, Meghan is keenly aware of a comment that Katy Perry made in 2018 about her wedding dress and is notorious for holding a grudge.”
The source continued: “While the comment wasn’t meant to be hurtful, Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle.”
They added: “I would not expect to see Meghan and Katy carpooling to PTA meetings anytime in the future!”
Meanwhile, Meghan reportedly found some of the anecdotes in Harry’s forthcoming memoir rather difficult to read and was left feeling “raw” by some of the details.
He has been given access to a plethora of unseen documents and has “spent months going through his private photo album, journals, emails and so forth”.
Speaking to HeatWorld, the source said: “This narrative that Meghan essentially stood over Harry as he wrote the book is way off the mark.
“It naturally brought up some extremely raw feelings and surprise anecdotes, many of which came as a huge shock to Meghan when she read through the manuscript.”
