The stars of Peacock’s Meet Cute may look mismatched, but it kinda works.
2022 has been quite the year for Pete Davidson, the comedian/pop star. Following his split from Kim Kardashian, the former SNL star was recently seen on the red carpet for the premiere of his Peacock original film Meet Cute.
Seen with co-star Kaley Cuoco, the pair made for an odd couple, partly because Davidson chose to wear sweats to his first major event after the split.
Meet Cute has just hit on Peacock for those looking to watch a romantic-comedy time loop, and the NBCUniversal streamer celebrated the occasion with a premiere event in New York. So, naturally, you need your two big stars posing for photos to really bring the night some sizzle.
Pete Davidson’s idea of sizzle was arriving at the event in a rather cozy hoodie/sweats combo. Considering Kaley Cuoco’s more traditional red carpet look, this is a fascinating choice.
That being said, Davidson’s Meet Cute premiere ensemble kinda works, but feel free to judge for yourself.
So it’s not as flashy as Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight premiere dress. With that obvious disclaimer out of the way, this Pete Davidson look still works.
The cut of his sweatpants, as well as the vibrant green color that pops between his maroon shoes and white hoodie, make the look work better than it appears on paper. This is especially true in the case of the cut, as these aren’t your typical gym baggie sweats.
It’s certainly an adjustment, as the Meet Cute premiere comes after Davidson and the always stylish Kim Kardashian called it quits.
None of this detracts from Kaley Cuoco’s stunning look for the evening. As if Harley Quinn’s Season 4 renewal wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, the actress best known for her roles in The Big Bang Theory and The Flight Attendant made the evening all about sequins. Cuoco’s glam, combined with Pete Davidson’s understated but colorful ensemble, made for a stunning contrast on this special night.
