Denise Richards is reportedly furious after a judge ordered her to make monthly spousal support payments to her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, as their divorce proceedings continue to unfold. The couple, who were married for six years, are currently navigating a bitter separation after Phypers filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
The two did not have any children together during their marriage. According to Radar Online, a judge has ordered Richards to temporarily pay Phypers $5,000 a month in spousal support until the divorce is finalized.
On top of that, she has been directed to pay $10,000 each for March, April, and May to cover his attorney fees and other related expenses, bringing her short-term financial obligation to a significant sum.
The ruling has not gone down well with the actress.
A source close to Richards told the outlet, “Denise never imagined she’d be the one writing monthly checks – she’s sick over this.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star reportedly feels that “the system and the ruling are totally unfair,” and is now worried that Phypers could walk away with even more money the next time the case returns to court, given his financial circumstances.

Making matters worse, insiders say Phypers has been less than gracious about the outcome. “Aaron is rubbing this in her face and taunting her, bragging how he’s going to get way more, that she owes him and he will make her pay up,” a source revealed.
Despite her anger, those around Richards are urging her to tread carefully. Engaging in any public dispute with Phypers at this stage could prove costly, as it risks incurring additional legal fees. The insider noted it could be “an absolute disaster for her bank account.”
Her inner circle has reportedly been encouraging the Starship Troopers actress to take up meditation as a way to manage her emotions, but she “won’t hear of it though she’s very righteous about this and doesn’t want to have to pay him a dime.”
The source summed up her frustration plainly: “She can’t believe after all she’s done for him that she now has to pay him, a grown, able-bodied man, $60,000 a year to go away.”
