Lisa Rinna is opening up about a moment that tested her relationship with Andy Cohen, revealing she was stunned after discovering he had included her private text messages in one of his books.
The 62-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star discussed the issue during an appearance Tuesday on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show, where she shared an update on where things stand between her and the longtime Bravo host.
“I’m fine with him today,” Rinna said, explaining that despite their rocky history, they are currently on good terms. She also noted that she didn’t reach out to Cohen before writing her own upcoming memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It, which is scheduled for release on February 24.
Rinna made it clear, however, that she hasn’t forgotten what happened when Cohen published her personal messages. “He’s written his own books and done what he’s done. You know, I think he put my personal text messages in his book,” she said.

Host Julia Cunningham pointed out that Cohen had warned Rinna she would be included in his book, though he apparently did not explain the full extent of what would be shared. Rinna admitted she suspected something might be coming, but still wasn’t prepared for what she read.
“Well, I had an idea,” she said. “But then when I read it and they were personal text messages to basically my boss. And to have them show up in a book, I was like, ‘Wow, wow, wow’…don’t give it away, but you gotta read what happened. Don’t give it away.”
While Rinna did not name the book directly, it appears she was referring to Cohen’s 2023 release, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up. Cohen has published other titles over the years, including The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look At A Shallow Star and Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes From Women I Love.
The pair have had an on-and-off dynamic for years, dating back to Rinna’s eight-season run on RHOBH before she exited the franchise in 2023. Still, they’ve managed to stay cordial publicly. Last year, they were seen sharing a friendly exchange on the red carpet at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards.
Rinna also previously appeared on Cohen’s SiriusXM show, where she apologized for comparing RHOBH to the Titanic. “I put my foot in my mouth. It’s not that. That show’s gonna go on and on and on. I misused my words,” she said at the time.
“I meant to say Titanic, and I said it, and I’m sorry I hurt your feelings. Let’s move on.” Cohen responded by joking, “You’re not a ‘Housewife’ anymore, but that was a little bit of an old-school Housewife apology.” Rinna replied bluntly, “I don’t really feel bad about it, though.”
Now, Rinna says she’s ready to fully tell her own story in her memoir, teasing fans with one promise: “The vault is open, honey!” She soon recalled the exchange with her husband, Harry Hamlin, on their own podcast, Let’s Not Talk About The Husband.
