Zara Larsson has said she blocks certain artists from her Spotify playlists, stating that those excluded are individuals she considers to be abusers.
The 28-year-old Swedish singer made the remarks during a round of “Cheap Shots” with Cosmopolitan, when asked which artist would never appear on one of her playlists.
“There’s so many artists I’ve blocked on Spotify,” Zara chuckled. “And all of them are like, abusers. You certainly wouldn’t find, like, a Chris Brown song.”
Chris Brown has faced multiple legal controversies during his career, most notably the domestic violence incident involving Rihanna. Over the years, several additional allegations have been made against the singer-songwriter.
Larsson has consistently been vocal about her social and political views. Earlier this year, she drew attention for a pointed Instagram post criticising US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“I love immigrants, I love criminals, I love trans people, I love abortions, I love queers, I love sl**ty women, I love contraception, I love welfare, I love socialism, I f**king hate ICE,” she wrote at the time.
The comments reflect Larsson’s longstanding approach to public discourse, in which she has frequently used her platform to address issues she considers important.
Larsson, who rose to international prominence with hits such as “Lush Life” and “Symphony”, continues to combine her pop career with outspoken commentary, reinforcing her reputation as an artist unafraid to articulate strong opinions.
