When Amber Heard repeated her claim that he pushed his ex-girlfriend Kate Moss down a staircase, Johnny Depp and his lawyer smiled. Johnny and Amber are in the middle of a multimillion-dollar slander lawsuit.
When Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard referenced British model Kate Moss in court, his lawyers were spotted celebrating. Amber earlier claimed that Johnny pushed Kate Moss down the stairs, and she repeated the allegation in court on Monday. In Johnny’s multimillion-dollar defamation trial, it appeared that his legal team had been waiting for Amber to tell the court the narrative.
Johnny has filed a $50 million lawsuit against Amber Heard, alleging that he assaulted her during their marriage, causing him to lose his job and social position. Amber then sued him for $100 million. The trial is now taking place in Virginia and is being broadcast live on the internet. Johnny is seen laughing and his lawyers rejoicing in a video from the hearing when Kate Moss is mentioned.
Amber was reminiscing about a fight she had with Johnny in March 2015, which also involved her sister Whitney Heard, who was attempting to defend her.
She said, “(Whitney’s) back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her. I don’t hesitate, I don’t wait — I, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs. And I swung at him. In all of my relationships to date with Johnny, I hadn’t landed a blow. And I, for the first time, hit him, square in the face. And he didn’t push my sister down the stairs.”
As per ny post, Johnny and his attorney Ben Chu smiled as soon as Amber said ‘Kate Moss and the stairs,’ as seen in a YouTube video. Ben went to face his teammates and pumped his fist. He then turned to Johnny, who was seated next to him and addressed him.
Amber claimed in 2020 that Johnny shoved Kate down a staircase while they were dating in the 1990s, citing two sources for her accusation. This occurred during Johnny’s unsuccessful lawsuit against The Sun for referring to him as a “wife-beater.”
At a previous trial, Johnny’s lawyers argued that this narrative was a complete fabrication, and now that Amber has brought it to court, they will be able to use it against her credibility.
Johnny and Amber met while shooting The Rum Diary in 2011. They married in 2015 but divorced after less than two years. Johnny filed the defamation complaint against Amber Heard after she wrote an article in The Washington Post in December 2018 about her experience as a domestic abuse survivor. Although the article did not mention Johnny by name, a planned film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series in which he plays Captain Jack Sparrow has been shelved.
