Kim Scott, the former wife of Eminem, was arrested in Michigan last week on suspicion of driving under the influence. Body camera footage of the incident was later published by TMZ, showing the moments leading up to her arrest.
In the video, Scott appears unsteady and disoriented while speaking with officers. She is seen undergoing a preliminary breath test, which she failed. Shortly afterwards, officers placed her in handcuffs. The footage shows that she did not resist arrest and calmly asked the police to contact her family.
During the interaction, Scott initially told an officer that she had not been drinking. However, after being questioned about allegedly driving her SUV into her own garage door, she changed her account. When pressed further, she admitted to having had a drink “two hours ago.”
Authorities say the incident escalated beyond damage to her own property. According to reports, Scott allegedly crashed her white Range Rover into a neighbour’s vehicle before leaving the scene. Police later located her and searched her SUV. Officers reportedly discovered soda bottles that contained alcohol inside the vehicle.
The arrest reportedly included charges related to operating a vehicle while intoxicated as well as hit-and-run. Further details about potential court dates or additional legal proceedings have not yet been released.
The bodycam footage captures Scott cooperating with officers throughout the encounter. While visibly distressed, she complied with instructions and did not attempt to flee or argue with law enforcement at the scene.
Scott has largely kept a low public profile in recent years despite her past high-profile relationship with Eminem. The two share a daughter and have had a complicated history that has often played out in the public eye.
As of now, neither Scott nor Eminem’s representatives have publicly commented on the arrest. The case is expected to proceed through the Michigan court system in the coming weeks.
