Podcast host Alex Cooper has gone public with her response to swirling online controversy involving fellow influencers Brianna LaPaglia and Alix Earle, flatly denying accusations that she is a “mean girl” and releasing private messages she says prove otherwise.
The dispute traces back to a recent TikTok in which Cooper accused Earle of manufacturing “fake drama.” The clip quickly spread across social media, drawing reactions from fans and fellow creators alike. Days later, Cooper took to Instagram Stories to directly address LaPaglia, who had described her as a “mean person,” a characterization Cooper says was formed entirely on secondhand information.
In her posts, Cooper pointed out that she and LaPaglia have never actually met, noting that their only interaction was via direct messages. To back up her claim, she shared screenshots of those conversations, which appeared to show a polite and amicable exchange directly at odds with how LaPaglia had portrayed her.
Cooper also pushed back against growing speculation that the whole saga has been engineered for publicity. She was unambiguous in rejecting that framing, insisting the situation is genuine and not orchestrated for attention. She went further, alleging that deliberate misinformation and what she called “dog piling” online had largely shaped the negative narrative about her.
LaPaglia, for her part, stood by her comments, clarifying that her perception of Cooper was based on what Earle had personally shared with her about past interactions. That detail points to a deeper undercurrent in the feud — specifically, Earle’s reported departure from Cooper’s Unwell network in 2025, which appears to have left lasting tension between the two.

The back-and-forth has ignited broader conversations across platforms about how influencer conflicts play out in public, the ethics of sharing private messages, and how quickly online narratives can take hold before all sides have been heard.
As of now, no formal statements have been issued by representatives for Cooper, Earle, or LaPaglia beyond their respective social media posts.
